The Bundesliga club have been linked with a move for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill after Liverpool agreed a £50million deal to sign the defender from Chelsea.
Article Continued BelowThe German international, 28, has been on Liverpool’s radar since last summer, when Liverpool made a £20million offer to land the England defender, but Cahill has so far ruled out a move.
“I’ve not heard anything,” Cahill said.
“We will talk again, we will see.
We have not talked.
I’ve been working with my club, I’ve not been talking with Liverpool.
I’m working with Chelsea, I’m happy.”
Liverpool are in pole position to sign Cahill, who has a year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and would provide competition for James Milner in defence.
The Liverpool captain has also been linked to Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle.
“Gary is a good player and a good signing for the club,” Klopp said in April.
“I’m not surprised by the situation because we are always working with good players, especially in the position I’m in.”
